We recently attended an emergency call-out after being contacted by a concerned family member whose loved one had been rushed to hospital. In the midst of an understandably stressful situation, they needed professional help to restore cleanliness and dignity to the space—quickly and discreetly.
The Situation
Upon arrival, we found several significant areas affected by blood and bodily fluid—both on the cream carpet and along the bed base of a divan-style bed. These types of incidents require careful handling, not only due to the visible stains but also because of the potential biohazard risk.
The Challenges

Light-coloured materials: Cream fabrics are especially unforgiving when it comes to stains
Confined working space: Limited access along the bed and wall
Urgency & hygiene: The room needed to be fully cleaned and safe for when the family member returned from hospital.
THE PROCESS
Our trained team arrived promptly, wearing full PPE and eqipped with medical-grade cleaning solutions.
1. Carpet Treatment
We pre-treated the stained areas with specialised solutions to break down proteins in the blood and fluids, followed by the use of a carpet cleaner to remove all contaminants.
2. Bed Base Cleaning
The upholstered section of the divan was also carefully treated and sanitised. This required a targeted application of our cleaning solutions and gentle agitation to protect the fabric while thoroughly removing the stain.
3. Decontamination
The surrounding areas were sanitised and deodorised to ensure it was safe, hygienic, and odour-free.
THE RESULT
The transformation was immediate. As the before-and-after photos show, both the carpet and bed were restored to a clean and safe condition. There were no lingering odours, stains, or signs of the distressing incident.
