Deep Cleaning a Soft Play Centre
Posted on 6th February 2025 at 08:56
It’s well known that soft play centres for young children are a breeding ground for germs, causing viral infections to be quickly spread through the children and adults.
Why is it so important to deep clean a soft play centre?
Soft play centres are difficult to keep clean as children run through them with food, water bottles, sticky fingers and snotty noses. It’s important to clean these areas to avoid mould growth and dust becoming an issue as well as viruses being easily spread.
During the winter months viruses including RSV, Flu and Cold are spread quickly which will make the children, the parents and the staff at the soft play centre unwell.
It is especially important to remove any dust as this can cause havoc for children with asthma.

How can we keep the soft play centre clean?
By asking the parents to not allow food or drink within the soft play area, and to ensure shoes are not worn on the equipment. However, this can be a difficult task to keep on top of as children don’t understand the rules, and some parents may not act on them.

How do you sanitise a soft play centre overnight?
Save yourself a job every morning by installing a sanitisation system/fogging system which will automatically run every night to kill all bugs and viruses in the soft play area.
We recommend during the day you clean and sanitise the soft play equipment by hand using a fast-acting sanitiser but running a professional sanitising system throughout the evening when the premises is closed.
It’s always important to keep the soft play equipment clean, dust and germ-free, but it’s not an easy task.
For one off deep cleaning and sanitisation call Gooch Group Ltd and we can provide you with a free no obligation estimate and may be able to carry out the clean on the same day if it’s an emergency clean.
